It's been almost two years since graduating from Cal Poly and I've already made my way back to the Central Coast. I thought it would take years before Los Osos was my home again, but I was quite mistaken. Los Ang

eles had become daunting to us over the last couple of years and seemed like the only obvious and easy choice was to return to our little pad in Baywood Park for some rejuvenation and hopefully, some renovation. Since it's been a rental for the last few years, we both knew that the house could use some attention and care from our own hands.
We've had rain on and off for the last couple of weeks, but yesterday morning was another break from the dark sky. Chad and I took the dog for a walk in Elfin Forest (just down the block) and walked down the wood planked path to one of the lookout points. I never get tired of taking a break here, it's an ideal spot to meditate and appreciate. Yesterday, I especially took note of the crazy intricate patterns that form in the estuary when the tide is low and it brought me back to being in school at Cal Poly. We were encouraged to use the natural patterns that occur in the landscape as inspiration for our own designs. Looking out onto the bay, I was completely inspired. The striations of water through the compact vegetation and the deep s-curve that hollowed it's way through, appeared to be executed so well---like someone took a large paintbrush brush and swept a channel for the floating birds to drift.
Guinness and I took a trip back to the forest so I could try and catch the vivid sight through the camera lens. Although the pictures didn't do the specific details justi

ce, at least now everyone can get a peak of our local miniature forest and the beautiful view I get to encounter each day.
